Mable Grace O’Neal of Kilgore, Texas passed peacefully to be with the Lord at 10:25 AM on Friday October 23, 2015.  She was born June 1, 1923 in Sugartown, LA  to Paul & Octavia (Bailey) Garner.  She met and married her husband, Clyde O’Neal, Sr.  and they were married 62 years until he preceded her in death April 30, 2000.

Her loving memory will be cherished forever by her daughter, Cheryl Hovis and husband, Ron, of Waxhaw, NC; her son, Clyde O’Neal and wife, Carlon, of Longview, TX; her four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and her two sisters, Catherine Bostrom of DeRidder, LA and Pauline Taylor of Port Arthur, TX; and her brother, Henry Garner of Haynesville, LA.

Her warm smile and friendly nature were amazing as she often initiated lively conversations with strangers.  Her unwavering faith and love of God influenced her children to follow her example by leading faithful Christian lives.  The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at The Willows Nursing Home where she spent her final years and passed peacefully.  Also, deepest gratitude to Texas Hospice Care who nurtured her and comforted her family.  Their love and concern for her is greatly appreciated.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, October 26, 2015 at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA with burial following in Drakes Fork Cemetery near Cravens, LA.  Friends may visit with family beginning at Noon until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
