PA man sentenced to 50 years for double slaying

BEAUMONT – Demetrius Bernard Glenn, 22, of Port Arthur, pled guilty Monday to Murder stemming from a June 6, 2013, double homicide in Port Arthur. In accordance with a plea agreement reached with prosecutors, Glenn was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Glenn was accused of shooting and killing Demario Polk and Carlos Lowe, both of Port Arthur. The group met to sell Glenn a firearm. Glenn shot and killed both men, then fled to Louisiana before being apprehended.
Prosecutor Luke Nichols stated, “While nothing can bring back these two lives lost, hopefully this gives the families of the victims a measure of justice and will allow them to heal and move on with their lives.”
Members of the victims’ families spoke out in court, saying they would pray for Glenn’s family. The case was investigated by the Port Arthur Police Department.
