• A Veterans Day Celebration is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 12 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Ninth Avenue. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. followed by a program, banquet with gumbo, trimmings and a guest speaker, and the honor guard. The event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council No. 12809 and is free to veterans, who are encouraged to wear their uniforms if they still fit into them.
