James C. “PawPaw” Bedwell

James C. “PawPaw” Bedwell, 82, of Nederland, died Tuesday, December 01, 2015. He was born on November 5, 1933, in Wideman, Arkansas, to Zelda Marie Dockins Bedwell and Edwin Levester Bedwell.
James was a United States Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict on the USS Shenadoah. He retired as a supervisor from Texaco in Port Arthur and was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Nederland Masonic Lodge #1368. James was affectionately known as PawPaw by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved camping, his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years, Sue Bedwell of Nederland; daughters, Karla Cloud and her husband, Robbie, of Saudi Arabia and Lisa Wappler and her husband, Bobby, of Fannett; son, Scott Bedwell and his wife, Carolyn, of Nederland; grandchildren, Jeremy Cloud and his wife, Maddie; Stephanie Williams and her husband, John; Jonathan Cloud; Timothy Wappler and his wife, Brandell; John Paul Wappler and his wife, Chelsea; Colby Bedwell; Amber Bedwell and Aaron Brugette; Joseph Cloud and his wife, Callie; Jessica Cloud; and Logan Bedwell; great-grandchildren, Claci Cloud, Gracie Williams, Addison Williams, William Cloud, Reese Cloud, Kyler Cloud, Quinn Wappler, and Brantlee Cloud; special caregiver, Lannett Tilley; and beloved dog, Hannah.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of Mr. Bedwell’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3324 Park Drive, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2015, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, with his graveside service to follow at 3:00 p.m., at Mount Zion Cemetery, US Highway 287 and County Road 2565, Chester.
