Steve M. Kirkland

Steve M. Kirkland, 64, of Vidor, died Friday, December 4, 2015. He was born on February 21, 1951, in Joaquin, to Willie Bernice Savage and David Bryant Kirkland, Sr., and had been a lifelong resident of the area.
Steve retired as a Military Policeman after twenty-two years of service in the United States Air Force. He also worked for Delta Security. Steve enjoyed genealogy, and reading and watching westerns.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-eight years, Dita Kirkland, of Vidor; daughters, Jere’ Redd, of Grand Prairie; Vanessa Hofstad and her husband, Kevin, of Nederland; Melissa Kirkland, of Vidor; Katrina Guilliame and her husband, Melvin, of Port Neches; and Stacy Kirkland and her fiancé, Jermey Haldeman, of Vidor; stepson, Chris Nicolasora, of Vidor; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Toni McWilliams-DeCoux, of Conroe; and brother, David Kirkland, Jr., of Pineland.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of Mr. Kirkland’s family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
