Joseph “Buttons” Broussard Jr. was born on November 4, 1952 in Lafayette Louisiana to Joseph Broussard Sr. and Mary Virginia Nero. He departed this life on Thursday December 3, 2015.
Visitation will begin at 9:00am with the Funeral Services immediately following at 11:00am on Saturday December 12, 2015 at the Rock Island Baptist Church in Port Arthur Texas.
He was a 1971 graduate of Lincoln High School in Port Arthur and was drafted and served in the US Air Force ranked as Sergeant until 1975. He worked in various Manager/Supervisory positions in Seattle Washington at Church’s Chicken, McDonald’s Boeing Air Craft. He also served at the United Way King County. He worked at The City of Seattle Public Utilities department as the Purchasing Supervisor, City of Port Arthur Purchasing Division Purchasing Manager, SKR Construction, Inc. Project Manager and Community Coalition Coordinator for South East Texas Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse.
He attended the Green River Community College in 1995, Advance Technical Specification Writing University of Texas, 2005, Certified Texas Purchasing Manager, University of Texas. He received the Diversity Exceptional Leadership Award City of Seattle.
Joseph Broussard is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Warren and Virginia Hill. ‘Joseph leaves to cherish his memories his children Chelii Broussard of Winston-Salem North Carolina, Lafleshe Broussard, Angel & Shawna James all of Seattle Washington, One brother Linton Nero and one Sister Harriet Mitchell Port Arthur.
