Lilia Flores Aleman, 91, of Port Arthur passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Regent Care Center in Kingwood, Texas.
She was born on May 17, 1924 to Juanita Recio Flores and Baltazar S. Flores in Port Arthur, Texas. Lilia was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she was active in the choir, a member of the Senior Club and Damas Guadalupanas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 1/2 years, Marcial (Charlie) Aleman, her son, Marcial Aleman, Jr., her three brothers, Rodolfo (Rudy) Flores, Gilbert Flores and Baltazar (Junior) Flores.
Lilia is survived by her children, Olivia Vergara and husband, Phil of Port Neches, David G. Aleman and wife, Brenda of Atascacita, Texas, Carlos (Tinky) Aleman of Irving, Texas and Tina Paquet and husband, Larry of Missouri City, Texas, her eight grandchildren, Erik Vergara, Victoria Aleman, Christina Smith and husband, Adam, David M. Aleman, Carlos M. Aleman and wife, Amber, Sarah Black and husband, Chris, Shannon Paquet and Brent Paquet, her four great grandchildren, Shelbie Vergara, Caylee Aleman, Austin Pigott and Emily Black.
She is also survived by her five sisters, Beatrice Rivera, Hortencia Quintela, Armandina DeLaCruz, Alicia Pedraza and Emma Montalvo, her two brothers, Jesus (Jesse) Flores and Richard Flores along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 12, 2015 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
