NISD Superintendent Robert Madding submits letter announcing resignation

NEDERLAND — The Nederland Independent School District trustees will consider a letter from Superintendent Robert E. Madding notifying the trustees he intends to retire on or before April 29. The trustees are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the administration building, 220 17th Street in Nederland.
The text of Madding’s resignation letter:
“It is with mixed emotions that I submit this letter as my official notice of retirement effective on, or before, April 29 …
“The past six years have truly been rewarding. Nederland ISD continues to be one of the paramount districts in the region. The District’s test scores are excellent, we care financially sound and the completion of the 2012 bond renovated the facilities and infrastructure to sustain the district for the foreseeable future.
“I would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Superintendent and wish NISD, its employees, and students continued success for years to come.
