Freeman Lindsay Smith

Freeman Lindsay Smith, 82, of Nederland, Texas, passed away December 16, 2015. He was born November 19, 1933, in Beaumont, Texas to the late Edgar Adam Smith, Sr. and Myrtle Rose West.
Freeman served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church Nederland. He retired from Texaco Chemical with 27 years of service, where worked as an operator.
Freeman is survived by his daughters; Angela Holt and husband, Donald of Orange, TX, Vicky Hebert LeDoux of Holly Springs, GA; sons Mark Smith and wife, Michele of Port Acres, TX, Donald Hebert of Houston, TX, Craig Hebert and wife, Yen of Sulphur, LA; 8 grandchildren and 5 great -grandchildren; brother, Jerry Smith and wife, Glenda of Liberty, TX; sisters, Ruby Francois and husband, Tommy of Canton, TX, Betty Gable and husband, Billy of Jasper, TX, Judy Pope of Longview, TX. In addition to his parents, Freeman was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Nell Smith and JoAnn Smith; brothers, Edgar Smith, Jr., Wilbur Smith, Willard Smith, Arthur Smith, Bobby Smith, Johnny Smith and Don Smith; sister, Elaine McCormick.
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home, with Chaplain John Mooney officiating. Interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
