Dorothy “Dot” Sloan, 93, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at Cypress Glen in Port Arthur.
Dorothy was born January 18, 1922 in Port Arthur, Texas to Alfred Miller and Elizabeth Schleidt Miller. She was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She was a member of the United Methodist Temple and former member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Port Arthur Department Club and several Bridge Clubs.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest J. Sloan; brothers, Conrad Miller and Walter Miller; sisters, Elizabeth Head and Ruth Morgan.
Survivors include her niece, Marilyn Miller Estes and her husband David of Spring, TX; nephews, John Head and his wife Sandra of League City, TX, Donald Head and his wife Carolyn of Woodville, TX; special cousins, Barbara and Jim Franklin of Boerne, TX; and several treasured great nieces and nephew.
A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
