Harry Joseph Dore, 91, of Port Arthur, TX passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016. Harry was born April 6, 1924, in Port Arthur to Jack and Ellen Dore. Harry was a World War II Veteran and was retired from Gulf Refinery.  He enjoyed gardening/ yardwork, eating at Luby’s weekly, visiting his neighbors and the simple pleasures of life.  Harry spent the last three years of his life in Groves under the care of his sister, Margie Harper, while residing at Oak Grove Nursing Home.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Vernice Dore. He is survived by sister, Margie Harper and husband William; sister-in- law, Ruth Dore and family and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to Harry’s second family, the staff at Oak Grove Nursing Home, for their continued support and dedication.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Grammier – Oberle Funeral Home. Services for Mr. Dore begin at 1:00 p.m., with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
