The start to Friday’s set was like a nightmare from which the Seahawks could not awaken. Tyler put up 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning, adding two in the second and third innings before finishing with six more in the fourth. The game ended in the fifth inning on the tournament’s run rule. The Seahawks, who are now 9-9 this season, scored their only run in the third inning.

The Hawks finished with five hits, including doubles from Rebecca Hernandez, Anessa Sanchez and Alexis Perez. Hernandez scored the only run on the RBI double by Perez. Hernandez took the loss on the mound after allowing 11 earned runs on 18 hits with one home run.

In the second game, the Seahawks fell behind 4-0 through five innings before exploding for nine runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh for the 11-5 victory over TVCC. Sierra Miller was 3 for 5 in the game and Clarissa Moreno went 3 for 4 with an RBI.

In the big inning for the Seahawks, Perez stroked a home run shot to center field to open the scoring. The Hawks worked their way through the lineup with Perez coming back up in the same inning, only to be hit by a pitch to reach base again. She would cross the plate again on a McKenzie Andrus single late in the inning.

Angelica Rogers went the distance on the mound, fighting off a final-inning comeback attempt by TVCC to preserve the win. She threw seven innings with four earned runs on seven hits. She tossed five strikeouts with six walks.
