Milton Michael Broussard, age 101, passed away May 16. Services will be held Saturday, May 21, at2 pm, with visitation beginning at 1 pm at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with Rev. Ralph Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Milton was born in the Half-Moon Reef Lighthouse in Matagorda Bay, Texas, where his father was the lighthouse keeper. He attended Bible College in Houston, was a veteran of World War II, and a retiree of Texaco Refinery in Port Arthur.
He was married to Thelma Mallet Broussard for 61 years before her death in 2004. He was a Christian and loved reading the Scriptures, praying, and sharing his faith.
Milton is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Stephens (Jim) of Clear Lake, Joan Potter of Houston; four grandchildren, Jill Ball (Cary), Jeff Stephens (Colleen), Chad Potter (Mary), and Ben Potter; and nine great-grandchildren, Milo, Lola, Kirby, Brandon, Isaac Milton, Tallulah, Penelope, Lyndsey, and Kylie.
