NEDERLAND — Customers new and old came out to Philpott Toyota to help celebrate the dealerships grand opening on Saturday.
Skeeter Jones and the Beer Can Band belted out the tunes under a canopied area while nearby visitors grabbed some free food courtesy of Neches River Wheelhouse, Rudy’s Kabobs, Boss Burger, CiCi’s Pizza and Kona Ice. Radio Station Q94 was also on hand to help celebrate.
“This is the grand opening celebration for our all new Philpott Toyota,” Bob Thewman, general manager, said. “We have over 100 Camry’s and Corolla’s in stock and hard to find Tundra’s, Tacoma’s, Highlander’s and 4Runners.”
Philpott Toyota has been at its new state-of-the-art facility, located at 2229 U.S. 69 in Nederland, for a few months, and decided to host the celebration to let the community know they are open.
Jomon George and Isaac Wilson work at the facility and believe it is a great place to do business.
“I bought my car from here,” Jomon George said.

Sherman Porchia and a friend had started out the morning going to look for a vehicle then heard Q94 on the radio announce the Philpot Toyota event.
“We thought we’d stop by,” Porchia said.
