BEAUMONT — Authorities are investigating the call of a bomb threat at ExxonMobil in Beaumont.
Todd Spitler, media spokesperson for ExxonMobil, confirmed the facility received a bomb threat and that local and federal authorities have been contacted and were on scene Wednesday to address the situation.
“We take these threats very seriously. We have taken steps to secure the area identified by the threat,” Spitler said.
Deputy Marcus McLellan with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said they got a call from the facility around 11 a.m. stating there was a bomb on the property.
The sheriff’s office responded along with the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
