Mid-County bows out of regionals

Mid-County was looking for a second shot at Alabama after dropping an 11-1 decision Sunday in the Senior Babe Ruth Southwest Regional in Weimar.
Tri-County ended Mid-County’s run in the tournament, however, taking an 11-6 win Monday to move on to play Alabama. No statistics were available.
Mid-County wasn’t the only local team in action Monday. The Bridge City Little League Major team was eliminated from the Texas East state tournament following an 11-5 defeat to Lamar. BC had lost to Pearland East 10-0 on Sunday.
Bridge City Little League’s Junior softball team lost to LaGrange 20-5 in their state final.
