WEST SABINE PLAYER DROWNS IN RED HILLS

PINELAND — A West Sabine High School football player drowned Thursday afternoon at Red Hills Lake, DailyNewsAndMore.com reported.

Donovan Grisby, who would have turned 19 on Aug. 22, was to be a senior at West Sabine. He died at the lake located about 10 miles north of Hemphill off of U.S. 87 in the Sabine National Forest. The lake is more than 120 miles north of Port Arthur.

Investigators told KFDM-TV Grisby became entangled in underwater vegetation in 17-deep water. Divers recovered his body, according to the station.
