Shooting, death of horse under investigation

BEAUMONT — Beaumont Animal Services is looking for information about the fatal shooting of a horse.
The horse, a 1-year-old Buckskin filly, was found with what appears to be .22 caliber bullet holes in two places on the rear buttocks. The shooting likely happened Sunday, Oct. 23, according to a press release from Beaumont Animal Services.
The horse was brought to a veterinarian who said the horse’s colon was damaged when shot. The horse had a leak in its bowels on the right side and was in a lot of pain. The horse later died from toxic shock death.
