Retirement still on Thomas’ mind

Seattle Seahawks safety and West Orange-Stark graduate Earl Thomas told Rich Eisen on the latter’s NFL Network show Tuesday he is “kind of caught in between” coming back to play from injury or retiring.

The Seattle Times reported on the interview.

Thomas suffered a broken leg when he came down hard on a failed interception attempt during a Dec. 4 game against the Carolina Panthers. Thomas tweeted after the game he was considering retirement, but told Eisen emotions were taking over him.

“Yeah, I’m kind of enjoying just waking up in the mornings without the pressure,” Thomas said. “Peace is starting to return to me, bro, and I think that’s my ultimate goal in my life. I just want to have peace.”
