Port Arthur police believe that two separate incidents of gunfire, one of which left a 17-year-old wounded and the other one with a 47-year-old wounded, are related.
However, no arrests have been made yet.
Port Arthur police officers responded to the first call around 5:50 p.m. on Thursday when a caller reported gunshots on 200 Gilham Circle near the park. They found no one at the site.
Officers then went to St. Mary’s Hospital, where a 17-year old black male was admitted for gunshot wounds from the fight. He was treated and released from the hospital.
Around 9:09 p.m. the same day, PAPD officers responded to a call of shots fired on the 1700 block of Thomas Boulevard.
Unidentified suspect or suspects had fired several rounds at a home, injuring a 47-year old black man. The man was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital where he was treated and released.
Preliminary investigation indicated this shooting was related to the earlier incident at Gilham Circle.
Both investigations have been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
