Port Arthur police responded to a call of a shooting around 2 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Liberty Avenue.
According to a press release issued by the police department, when officers got to the location they found a 17-year-old male shot in his upper body. Port Arthur fire personnel along with Acadian EMS personnel treated the teen and transported him to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumot.
The victim is listed in critical condition.
The city’s press release did not include any details of any arrest and listed no motive for the shooting.
Neighbors and others watched from about a block away but did not want to speak to media.
