12-year-old shot accidentally, hit in shoulder

A 12-year-old boy was shot in the 3200 block of 42nd Street at 12:57 p.m.
According to information provided by the city’s public information officer, Risa Carpenter, the shooting was an accident, the result of two juveniles playing with the gun.
The boy the hit in the shoulder.
Emergency Medical Service attendants transported the injured juvenile to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are actively investigating this call for service.
