Port Arthur Memorial quarterback Keitha Jones on Tuesday announced his commitment to SMU on Twitter.

Jones is taking over as starting quarterback for current Louisiana-Lafayette freshman Kadon Harrison. Jones has primarily been a wide receiver the past two seasons and finished last season with three touchdowns and 395 yards on 25 receptions with a long of 63 yards.

“First, I would like to thank God for giving me the abilities to play the game that I love,” Jones tweeted. “I also want to thank my family and friends that have supported me since the beginning. I want to thank my coaches for pushing me hard. I would love to be a part of the Mustang family. Their Coaching staff are really great and they’re like family away from home. I really feel I’ll fit in there.”
