Claudett Marie Williams

Claudett was born on June 1, 1936 to the union of Joseph Mitchell and Pearl Charles. She was a native of Port Arthur, TX. After attending Abraham Lincoln High School, she worked in the nursing industry and was also a nursing provider.  She was a faithful member and secretary for the Madonna’s Social and Civic Club, as well as a member of the IBOE #581 Daughters’ of The Elks.

She is preceded in death by her husband Linton Williams; three sons George Tillman, Adrian Keith Williams, and Aaron Sperling; aunt Mary Boudoine, and brother, Emmanuel Dent.

She passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2017. Cherishing her memory are five sons, Michael (Tracy), Jerome (Mary), Pierre, Roderick (Misty), and Milam, one daughter Sabrina (Kelvin), and special daughter Lillie Sperling, seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Rosa Lee Brown (George), Lourena and Samantha Mitchell, Mellouise Allen and Beulah King; five brothers Ronnie (Etta), Dennis, Douglas, Curtis, and Wendell Mitchell; special sister Atilee Captain and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, 2148 7th St, Port Arthur, TX from 12pm to 2pm, with the funeral following at 2pm.  The burial will be at Calvary Cemetery on 9th Avenue in Port Arthur under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
