Sand available to P.A. residents—so long as it lasts

If anyone in Port Arthur needs sandbags, get them while supplies last.
And while the weather holds out. Showers are forecast for later in the afternoon.
As of 10 a.m. Thursday, the county began handing out sand and sandbags at the Jefferson County Road and Bridge Building on Highway 73 and Jade Avenue. The sand and bags will be available as long as it lasts and residents must bring their own shovels. Even before the sand was available Thursday morning, dozens of area residents lined up, shovels in hand.
Residents near China can get sand at the county’s facility at 20205 Highway 90.
Residents of areas in and around Beaumont can go to 7780 Boyt Road.
Residents of Nederland can go to 7759 Viterbo Road.
Residents of Hamshire can go to Highway 124 in Hamshire.
