Landry’s No. 1 ranking in jeopardy

Andrew Landry’s chances of winding up as the leading money winner on the Web.com Tour, and claiming the perks that go with it, are pretty much out of his control.

Landry, after a second-consecutive one-under-par 70 Saturday in the Portland (Oregon) Open, is tied for 41st with a 54-hole total of four-under 209. Barring a lights-out closing round on the Witch Hollow Course at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, the Groves native won’t add much to his bottom line of $286,582.

What that means is four players in the top 10 on the money list are positioned to pass him with a good final round. Biggest threat looks to be Abraham Ancer, who is tied for the 54 hole lead at 12-under 201. Ancer is No. 9 on the money list with $242,728 in winnings.

Others with a reasonable shot are Sam Ryder ($261,506), who is tied for 14th at 205, Adam Schenk ($233,992), who is also tied for 14th, and Andrew Putman ($253,495), who is tied for 21st at 206.
