Letter to our readers on possible delivery delays
Published 3:54 pm Monday, August 28, 2017
Dear Friends, neighbors and readers of The Port Arthur News.
The past few days have been pretty hectic for the communities of Mid- and South Jefferson County. This looks to continue over the coming days. We urge all residents to err on the side of caution when venturing out. With the amount of rain we have been through and what is predicted, the runoff will become worse. Remember, safety first.
We here at The Port Arthur News are working diligently to produce your publications in print and on the web for Tuesday and Wednesday. However, we also want to keep our employees and independent contractors safe and out of possible dangerous situations.
Due to this, we want to inform subscribers that there may be delays in delivery over the coming days. We are planning early deadlines for tonight and tomorrow. But, with the unexpected time frames of weather that will impact our area, we may have to delay delivery until it becomes safer for our independent contractors to be on the streets. Your papers will be delivered.
We will also be updating our website panews.com regularly with stories, road closures, school closures and storm information. Click on the Breaking News banner at the top of the web page for the latest.
We appreciate your patience and pray that you and your loved ones remain safe.
If you have storm and/or flood pictures that you would like to share us, please send to The News managing editor Jesse Wright at jesse.wright@panews.com.
