Beginning today, the Port-Arthur News will distribute an additional 3,500 newspapers daily as a community service, publisher Rich Macke announced Wednesday.
“It is the newspaper’s highest obligation to inform and serve,” Macke said. “We will put our every effort behind keeping the people of our community informed as we all work together to rebuild.”
Each newspaper carrier will receive an additional 200 newspapers to deliver to people who don’t normally receive the newspaper.
“We hope readers will appreciate the editions not only for the current information provided in the aftermath of the storm, but also as historical keepsakes,” Macke said.
