Southeast Texans can get ready to strut their stuff while taking a gander at a wide assortment of local and out-of-town art Saturday in Port Neches. All it will cost them is the gas to get there.
The third annual Art Walk on the Avenue will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday along Port Neches Avenue from the intersection of Nall Street to Montgomery Street. Admission is free and all are welcome.
“We have local and out-of-town artists come and show and sell their art,” Esther Macha, organizer, said. The event is a coordinated effort between her, the Port Neches Chamber of Commerce and Julie Shields from Port Neches Middle School Art Department.
“It has all kinds of different mediums—sculptures, jewelry, paintings and the like,” she said.
Among the other attractions slated for the Art Walk are a pumpkin patch, vintage car show and a kid zone filled with activities for children.
In addition, there will be food trucks and live music courtesy of the Neches Brewing Company.
Macha could not give an estimate of attendee numbers in previous years, but she did say the “turnout’s been great every year.”
