The investigation into the June shooting death of James Arceneaux Jr. has been completed and no arrest made.
Arceneaux, 17, suffered a gunshot wound to the head in June in the 1000 block of Liberty.
A motive for the shooting is not known but police received information of possible gang activity but could not confirm this, according to Port Arthur Police Department.
Police also believe there was evidence the shooting was possibly in self-defense.
A case against Kylan Bazile, described as a friend of the victim, was presented to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office and a grand jury gave a ‘no bill’ meaning Bazile was not indicted for the crime on July 19.
