Beaumont police on Saturday were searching for a 22-year-old local man wanted in connection with a shooting death.

Police said in an issued statement that they have an arrest warrant on the charge of murder for Desmond Roshond Bennett of Beaumont.

Police believe Bennett is connected to the Thursday shooting death of Anthony Green, 20, of Beaumont. Police were called to 3025 Washington at 12:47 p.m. Thursday after a call about shots being fired.

There, they found Green shot in the back parking lot of a car wash.

Green was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police said the investigation was continuing. They asked anyone with information about Bennett’s whereabouts or details of this crime to call Beaumont Police at 409-832-1234.
