2 teens charged with auto burglaries

BEAUMONT — Beaumont police early Friday arrested two men in connection with auto burglaries in the city’s western reaches.

Jason I. Hill, 17, and Brandon D. Everett, 17, were charged with multiple counts of auto burglary.

Police said after officers responded to more than 30 auto burglaries early Thursday they focused additional midnight shift attention early Friday to apartment complexes and neighborhoods near Major Drive.

Around 1:45 a.m. Friday, responding to a citizen’s call in the 9600 block of Shepherd Drive, they arrested Hill and Everett. A witness said he saw both men break into his vehicle and others nearby.

Police said Hill and Everett were in possession of stolen property taken from several reported burglaries.

Each suspect was charged and transported to Jefferson County Jail.
