Bennie Jewel Butler. 82, of Port Arthur died Wednesday January 17, 2018 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Bennie was born February 08, 1935 in Jefferson, TX to the late Dave and Mabel Washington. Bennie was preceded in death by her loving husband Warren Butler, Sr. She was a resident of this area for over 50 years and a faithful member of Carter Chapel C.M.E Church. She was a beloved homemaker and caregiver to many people throughout the community. Her nurturing heart left an imprint on every life that she touched.

Bennie leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved son Lee A. Haney, Sr. of Cranberry Twp, PA; two daughters Mary Etta Butler-Johnson of Houston, TX; Je’Near Butler, of Port Arthur, TX; her devoted nieces, Alice McCray, Port Arthur, TX, and Cynthia Gulliory, Orange, TX; nephews, Glen McCray and Michael Washington, Port Arthur, TX; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church with viewing from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
