PORT NECHES — The Port Neches-Groves Indians had seven hits and took advantage of five Ozen errors in a 20-1 win Tuesday.

Three Indians scored three or more runs each, and Josh Hranicky — who held the Panthers to one hit — batted in five runs going 2 for 3. Carson Roccaforte and Holden Lane each drove in three runs, and Drake Varnado, Brendon Petix and Justin Bailey each batted in one.

Austin Bost, Cameron Abate, Petix, Roccaforte and Lane accounted for the other hits. Hranicky struck out 13.

PNG (7-7-3, 1-0 in 22-5A) will visit Ozen at 7 p.m. Friday.

LUMBERTON 4

NEDERLAND — Adam Roccaforte drove in a run on two hits, and Nederland (8-5-1, 1-0) began District 22-5A baseball play Tuesday with a 5-4 win over Lumberton.

Braydon Credeur threw five innings and Conner Kemp came on for the save. Landon Hiltz scored two runs, stole a base and went 1 for 3 with an RBI for the Bulldogs, as Trenton Simon and Angel Castillo also went 1 for 3.

The Bulldogs will visit Lumberton at 2 p.m. Thursday.

SOFTBALL

PNG 15, LUMBERTOn 0

LUMBERTON — Hannah Denman smashed a home run and double, and those were only two of PNG’s 10 extra-base hits Tuesday in a rout of Lumberton.

Denman drove in three runs, scored two and batted 2 for 3 as the Indians (10-9-1, 5-0 in 22-5A) remain atop the district.

Callie Jourdan went 3 for 3, just a home run shy of the cycle; Brooke Smith was 2 for 3 with a triple, RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base; Kaitlyn Boudreaux was 2 for 2 with a double and run scored; Kasidee Sartin was 2 for 4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored; Bayja Newby was 1 for 3 with a triple and run scored and Maylin Louvier was 1 for 1 with a double and three runs scored.

NEDERLAND 5, VIDOR 1

NEDERLAND — Destini Trahan limited Vidor to two hits and struck out eight in a complete-game, 5-1 Nederland victory Tuesday.

The Bulldogs (12-7-2, 3-1 in 22-5A) led 5-0 through two innings. Brittany Taylor and Allysa Collazo each had two hits, Hannah Goode, Lexi Eversole, Hannah Grumbles and Danielle Richardson each lined a hit, and Eversole batted in two runs. Kristan Traxler, Taylor and Grumbles each had an RBI.

Nederland hosts Livingston next Tuesday.
