Miss Karen Nicole DeRouen, 44, of Port Arthur passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 in Harlingen, Texas at Solara Specialty Hospital.  A native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur, Texas, Karen was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital until her health failed.

She is survived by her daughter, Alexis Nicole Williams; her parents, Jimmy A. “Rabbit” DeRouen and Eva D. DeRouen all of Port Arthur, TX; her sister, Shanika “Nikki” Baines (Reginald) of Houston, TX; special friend, Floyd Williams; god parents, Louis and Viola Valsin of Port Arthur, TX; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Karen is preceded in death by a sister Jennifer DeRouen; grandparents Alexson and Audrey Matthews of Lafayette, LA and Dudley and Geraldine DeRouen of Youngsville, LA.  Special thanks to Judge Marc DeRouen, Judge Branick and Attorney Larry Dowden.

Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
