Michael Arnaud was at it again Thursday in the Web.com Tour’s Rex Hospital Open.
Two weeks after he won his first Web.com tournament, Arnaud fired a five-under-par 66 that was good a share of fifth place at Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, North Carolina. Arnaud is two shots off the lead.
The West Orange-Stark ex finished fast to come out of the pack and soar up the leaderboard. After playing his first 12 holes in 1 under, he birdied four of his final six holes.
Elsewhere in professional golf Thursday, Port Neches-Groves ex Andrew Landry opened with a one-under-par 71 that was good for a tie for 29th in Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial Classic in Dublin, Ohio. Landry rebounded from a double bogey on his fifth hole with birdies on both par 5s on his incoming nine.
While he is T29, Landry is six shots behind a trio of players who shot 65. He is, however, ahead of World No. 1 Justin Thomas, recent No. 1 Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods.
