Filings continue in Groves, Port Neches, PNGISD

Filings for various political races in Groves, Port Neches and Port Neches-Groves Independent School District continue as the Aug. 20 deadline approaches.
Groves
Ward 2 councilmember Karen Theis has filed for reelection and has drawn an opponent, Cory Perry.
Ward 4 councilmember Kyle Hollier has filed for reelection and he too has an opponent, Daniel Diaz.
Incumbents Mayor Brad Bailey and City Marshal Norman Reynolds have both filed for reelection and neither had an opponent as of Friday.
In addition, there will also be an issue on the ballot to recall Councilman Cross Coburn.

Port Neches
In Port Neches, the seats currently held by Mayor Glenn Johnson and Councilmember Place 4 Robert Arnold are up for grabs and so far both incumbents have filed for reelection as of Friday.

Seats are at-large.
PNGISD
Port Neches-Groves Independent School District has three seats open and three candidates so far.
Incumbent Scott Bartlett has filed for reelection to his Place 1 seat. Derek Knepp has filed for the Place 2 seat currently held by incumbent Lana Parker. Parker had not filed for reelection as of Friday afternoon.
Place 3 incumbent Eric Sullivan filed for reelection and does not have an opponent so far.
