Morris Wayne Schroeder

Morris Wayne Schroeder was born on September 10th, 1941, in Port Arthur, Texas. Morris passed away in Port Arthur, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He graduated high school from Port Arthur Thomas Jefferson. After attending Lamar University, he worked for the City of Port Arthur and then worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Beaumont Texas for over 30 years before retiring.   During retirement he loved his time that he was able to spend out in West Texas deer hunting and raising cattle on their ranch near Hondo, Texas.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Amanda Schroeder, as well as his brother Lloyd Schroeder. Morris is survived by his wife, Joann Schroeder, his children: Gretchen Moore and husband Walt, Bridget Erben and husband Mark, Wayne Schroeder and wife Liz, and three stepchildren: Alan Byars and wife Nancy, Karen Blum and husband Mark, Mark Byars and wife Donna, as well as six granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, four step-granddaughters and two step-grandsons.   He is also survived by his sisters, Bernadine Schroeder and Dale Gordon and her husband Greg.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 5, 2018, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, 4841 39th St., Port Arthur, Texas. Graveside services and internment will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Miller Creek Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Johnson City, Texas.
