Collision injures Beaumont police officer

A Beaumont police officer was injured Tuesday when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle existing a gas station.

In an issued statement, police said motor Officer Kolin Burmaster was northbound on the Interstate 10 service road in a turnaround lane, approaching College Street, at 11:35 a.m. when a vehicle pulled out of a private drive at an Exxon station, drove across the road and in front of Burmaster.

Burmaster suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Burmaster was transported to a local hospital and was admitted.
