BPD, departments across US respond to bomb threats

UPDATED: 3:14 p.m. Multiple news outlets report threats across the country received via email.
UPDATE: 2:45 p.m. Nedelrand Police Department and Port Arthur Police Department have said they have not received any calls regarding bomb threats.
UPDATE: 2:39 p.m. The FBI Houston Division released a statement regarding bomb threats across the nation.
“The FBI is aware of the recent bomb threats made in cities around the country,” the released read. “We remain in contact with our law enforcement partners to provide assistance. As always, we encourage the public to remain vigilant and to promptly report suspicious activities which could represent a threat to public safety.”
UPDATE: 1:55 p.m. Per NBC News, “Dozens of bomb threats being reported at news outlets, government buildings and other businesses across the US, various local media and police depts. report.”
Beaumont Police Department said they have received multiple calls of bomb threats at multiple locations in the city.
“We are investigating these threats with our local, state and federal partners as is standard protocol,” the department tweeted. “The investigation is ongoing.”
The department responded to a call of a bomb in the 7800 block of Eastex Freeway.
