Margaret Catherine Arisco

Margaret Catherine Arisco, 88, of Port Neches passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Margaret was born January 7, 1930 in Port Arthur, TX to the late Paul and Catherine Genuardi.

Margaret graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1948 and married Sam Arisco on April 20, 1952. She worked as a cashier for Woolsworth and was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of St. James Altar Society and American Italian Culture Club. She was a devout Catholic and attended several catholic churches in and around Mid-County, with St. James being her home parish. Margaret had a passion for cooking and talking on the phone with her friends. She enjoyed playing cards, BINGO and screaming at baseball umpires.

Margaret is survived by her children, Viola Kay Dennis of Port Neches, Joe Arisco of Port Neches, Cathy Ann Arisco of Port Neches and Marian Elizabeth Arisco Black or Cypress, CA. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Lou Dennis and wife Phylicia, Michael Black, Elizabeth Black, Sam Arisco and wife Katherine; great grandchildren, Darrian Dennis, Hannah Viebrock and Josh Viebrock to cherish her memories. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Genuardi and Catherine Graffino Genuardi, husband Sam Arisco, brother, Sam Genuardi, sisters, Callie Lena and Fena Shelfo.

A Christian Vigil will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with the rosary to begin at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018, with a visitation to begin at 10:00 a.m. and the rosary to begin 10:30 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
