FOOTBALL: Texas’ Johnson to return for senior season

University of Texas receiver Collin Johnson announced on Twitter Thursday his intent to return for his senior season.

Johnson was the second-leading receiver for the Longhorns with 985 yards and seven touchdowns on 68 catches. He caught three passes for 40 yards in Tuesday’s Sugar Bowl win over Georgia.

“After a lot of prayer and talking with my family, I have decided to return to the University of Texas for my senior year,” Johnson said. “This will give me the opportunity to accomplish a couple of goals I set for myself the moment I stepped on campus. These include getting my degree as well as helping Texas win a championship. This will also enable me to play one last year with my brother, Kirk, at our dream school!”
