John Delafosse

John Delafosse of Fannett, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2019, at the age of 76. He was born on July 16, 1942 to William and Hattie (Vidrine) Delafosse in Elton, Louisiana. John graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Merchant Marine, John became a welder and was a proud member of Pipefitters Local 195. He married the love of his life, Mary Abraham, on April 7, 1962. Being Cajun, he loved gardening, making gumbo, and Cajun music. Most of all, John was a devoted husband and father and loved being with his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Fannett, Texas; daughter Tina Walbridge of Plano, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Dana and Charles Hunt of Annapolis, Maryland; son and daughter-in-law, Bryant and Geraldine of Riverside, California; grandchildren, Peyton Hunt, William Hunt, Christina Walbridge, and Ivan Delafosse; and many more loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Willard and Huey.
