On Monday, December 31, 2018 Joseph Veltz peacefully passed away at home with his loving wife of 50-years by his side. As if in accordance with Matthew 25:23, “His Lord said unto him, well done, good and faithful servant”.
Joseph was born to the late Freddie and Pearlie Mae Veltz on March 8, 1944 in Port Arthur, Tx. He was preceded in death by three brothers Freddie Veltz Jr, Walter Veltz Sr and Lewis Veltz.
In 1968, he married Edna Smith and from this union two daughters were born. His joy and fulfillment in life came from making every moment a special moment for his family. His humor always provided a balance of reality and playfulness.
Joseph graduated from Sacred Heart High School. He went on to work for the City of Port Arthur in the Parks and Recreation department; where he often said his greatest joy was to be outdoors instead of being confined to an office space. He retired from the City of Port Arthur in 1991. In 2001, Joseph decided on a new retirement journey and relocated to sunny Phoenix, AZ.
He leaves to mourn his wife Edna Veltz; two daughters, Antoinette Wynn, Baltimore, MD; Adriann Fuller, Odenville, AL; two son-in-laws, Reginald Wynn; Charles Fuller; one brother Carlton Veltz Sr, Port Arthur, Tx; two sisters Josephine Demouchette, Houston, Tx; Helen Veltz, Houston, Tx., four grandchildren Jamaal Knight; Justin Knight; Keyonna Fuller; Deandrae Fuller and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
