A Beaumont pedestrian was struck and killed by an automobile late Saturday.

Beaumont police said the accident occurred around 11:16 p.m. in the 3900 block of College Street. The victim was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with critical injuries and died there.

Police said preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was attempting to cross College Street traffic when the accident occurred. The identity of the deceased will be released as soon as next of kin has been notified.

The driver was cooperating with the continuing investigation Sunday.
