Elizabeth Ann Staton, age 73, passed away January 11, 2019. She was born September 9, 1944 in Port Arthur, Texas to Robert and Retta Mae Eagleson.
Elizabeth was a loving wife and mother who loved her family and was always there for them. She loved gardening and over the first several years after moving to Dallas developed beautiful flower gardens in the front and back yards. She loved to sit on the back porch admiring her gardens and watching the many birds that came to feed at the feeders in her garden.
For 36 years she was a dedicated employee at JC Penney. She started in Tyler in the booth at the rear of the store where they rented strollers to mall goers, and by the time she retired, she had held every different management position except for store manager which she refused to take because she would not transfer. She loved her work but was always a wife and mother first.
She was a Christian and exemplified the true unconditional love and forgiveness of Christ always. She was a true servant of the Lord and gave abundantly and selflessly to her family and those she loved.
Elizabeth is survived by three sisters, Lelah Howard, Betty Little, and Linda Brown; her husband of 54 years, Lanny Wayne Staton Sr.; her children, Lanny Wayne Staton II, John David Staton, and Kindel Staton; her grandchildren Sarah, Hannah, Ryan, Tyler, Patty and Gerald Staton II; and her great-grandchild, Aaron. She had a profound impact in all of their lives.
Please join us celebrating her life Friday morning January 18 at 10:00 A.M. at Hunters Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Rd., Plano, TX 75023.
