Amaree Abram is a freshman, but he hasn’t been playing like one lately.
Abram led three Memorial boys basketball players in double figures with 20 points, helping the Titans pull out a 50-39 home win over Port Neches-Groves on Tuesday.
Memorial (21-6, 8-1 in 21-5A), a co-leader in the district with Barbers Hill, earned the season sweep over PNG (17-11, 5-4). The Indians fell out of a third-place tie with Nederland, whom they defeated Friday.
Memorial led 11-4 after one period, 20-17 at halftime and 33-24 through three.
Kenneth Lofton Jr. added 13 points and Steven Wilson had 10 for the Titans, who will visit Cleveland on Friday. Noah Marchak scored 14 and Jackson Simmons had eight for PNG, which will host Barbers Hill on Friday.
