BEAUMONT — The last two undefeated teams in Southland Conference square off on Saturday afternoon when Lamar travels to Stephen F. Austin.
Both teams enter the matchup with a win streak of 10 or more games. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at Johnson Coliseum.
Stephen F. Austin enters the contest with the Cards coming off a 65-53 victory over Houston Baptist on Feb. 6. The win for the Ladyjacks was its 10th straight, which is the seventh longest win streak in the nation. Against the Huskies, SFA shot 41.2 percent from the field and hit seven three-pointers. The Huskies forced Stephen F. Austin into 12 turnovers in the contest. SFA was led in scoring by Imani Johnson.
She played 15 minutes and was the only Ladyjack in double-figures with 19 points. She was 5 for 7 on three pointers in the game.
Stephen F. Austin is led in scoring by Chanell Hayes, who is averaging 14.2 points per game. Imani Johnson follows averaging 12.5 points per game. Besides scoring, Johnson leads the Ladyjacks in rebounding averaging 5.5 rebounds per game. SFA has three players with 25 or more three-pointers on the season. Hayes leads the way with 37. Marissa Banfield is second on the team with 35 and Heaven Hamling has 25 for the Ladyjacks.
As a team, SFA is averaging 71.7 points per game and are shooting 44.8 percent from the floor. The Ladyjacks scored a season-high 97 points against New Orleans on Jan. 16. Opponents are averaging 57.5 points per game and shooting 35.4 percent from the floor on the season. The most anyone has scored against the Ladyjacks this season is 81 points.
The Ladyjacks were picked to finish second in the Southland Conference Preseason Poll.

The Cardinals trailed by eight, 42-34, entering the fourth quarter, but Lamar’s offense woke up and scored 29 points and came back to earn its 12th win in a row with a 63-60 victory over Abilene Christian on Wednesday night in Southland Conference action.
With the win, the Cards improve to 17-4 on the season and 10-0 in SLC play, while Abilene Christian falls to 14-7 and 7-3 in SLC action.
In the fourth quarter, the Cards were 8-for-12 from the floor, including going 5 for 8 on three-pointers. LU sealed the victory at the free throw line where they went 8-for-10. Lamar forced ACU into five turnovers in the quarter and did not commit a turnover.
The Cards had four players in double-figures led by Moe Kinard who scored 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Chastadie Barrs followed with 13 points. Miya Crump and Briana Laidler rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11 points apiece.
Barrs recorded five steals in the contest and now has a steal in 112 straight games. She has 580 career steals.

The Cardinals return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Natchitoches, Louisiana, to face Northwestern State. This will be the final game of four straight road games. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. from Prather Coliseum.
