SOFTBALL: 8-run fourth caps PNG rout of West Brook

Kasidee Sartin, Taylor Dominguez and Hannah Denman combined to bat 11 for 11 and helped Port Neches-Groves defeat visiting West Brook 17-2 on Tuesday in non-district softball.
Sartin and Denman each homered once, had two doubles and scored twice. Dominguez drove in five runs and Sartin batted in three. Denman was 3 for 3, batted in two runs and scored four times.
Jakeyla McDaniel also tripled in the win.
PNG led 9-1 through three innings but outscored West Brook 8-1 in the fourth to run-rule the Bruins, who committed four errors. Cameron Niedenthal struck out five and allowed three hits in the pitching win.
PNG will host Crosby at 5 p.m. Friday.
