Ruth Elaine Case

Ruth Elaine Case, 84, of Lumberton, formerly of Port Arthur, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Jefferson Nursing Home in Beaumont.
Ruth was born on September 26, 1934 in Port Arthur to parents Lucille (Philen) and Dudley T. Miller. She had lived most of her life in Port Arthur; for the last seven years in Lumberton. Ruth was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, especially Stephen King novels. Ruth was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved going shopping. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Jimmy and Bobby Miller.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Kathy Forst and husband, Lee of Lumberton, her sister, Linda Hargrove and Gene Hebert of Deer Park, TX, her granddaughter, Angie Smith and her husband, Justin of Lumberton, her great grandson, Dylan Brunson of Lumberton and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thank you to her guardian angel, Tracy at Jefferson Nursing Home, for the love and care given to Ruth.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 5 pm until 8 pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
